Today I took a trip to Brixham in Torbay, South Devon. I’ve been there countless times and had to mention the small family run haberdashery located just around the corner from the harbour. It’s one of those shops you just briefly pop into and walk out somehow spending £30!
It is small but has a nice collection of fabric, mostly Makower from the brief few times I’ve had the chance to visit.
Alongside knitting, quilting and dressmaking accessories they also sell: elastic, thread, cotton tape, wool, ribbon, organza, needles, pins, thimbles, buttons, patchwork, embroidery, knitting needles, cord, chalk, ric rac, lace, bias binding, interfacing, wadding, Petersham, hooks, bobbins, scissors, bra extenders, fasteners, darning wool, mending tape, quilting, zips. Basically everything you could possibly need for the majority of projects!
The staff are incredibly friendly and also run classes which you can find out more about on their website if you live locally. (www.brixhamsewingbox.co.uk)
So what did I buy!
I’m a sucker for anything nautical. Always have been and always will be and couldn’t resist this little mix of prints. I haven’t decided what to make with these yet but they would make a great a little patchwork project.
oops! Another nautical print made it in there. There was a great little range of sale products including this cute Scotty dog fabric and the Christmas town print which was only £6.20 for a meter, bargain!
